KENT On January 6 the Kent Gay Liberation Front Steering Committee held its first meeting of the winter quarter.
Speaker's Workshop

At the meeting Dr. Delores Noll, coordinator of Speakers Bureau, announced the dates for the Speaker Bureau's Workshop. The first meeting will be 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. The topic of discussion will be "Legal Rights of Gay People." In preparation for the workshop, anyone interested in attending is asked to read the ACLU handbook The Rights of Gay People.
The workshop will focus on how to explain the gay perspective and answer questions at speaking engagements.
A second workshop dealing with "psychological Issues and Gays" will be held on Saturday, February 7. The reading for this workshop will be Dr. George Weinberg's Society and the Healthy Homosexual.

Winter Schedule
A partial schedule of programs for the general meetings was also announced: Jan. 13: Election of officers for winter and spring quarters. Jan. 20: Akron Lawyer Thelma Fuhry talks about legal problems of gays in Northern Ohio with emphasis on the Lesbian motherhood case and the Akron jaywalking case.
Feb. 3: Gay ice-skating party at KSU Ice Rink (tentative).
Feb. 17: Valentine Dance (profits support the April Kent conference.)
On Friday nights are the Women's Rap and Men's Rap groups at the Student Center. The Coming Out Rap group will begin January 16. For more information contact the KGLF office at (216) 672-2068.
During the steering committee meeting there was some discussion about delaying the conference until May. As of Wednesday, Jan. 7, that will not be done because the needed facilities are not available.
